THE BEST OF WELLNESS

ADITI RAO HYDARI
Actor

If you are happy, you will look
good naturally
Wellness is a state of mind that reflects
on the body and face. You cannot be well
outside if you don’t feel good inside.
Wellness then, is actually wholesome

  • if you are mentally at peace and
happy, you will naturally look good.
You may be fit, but are you happy with
the world, with yourself, and at peace
with everything around you? If you can
answer this question in the affirmative,
then you are in a state of wholesome
wellness. Being fit to me has a more
    physical connotation.

Working out & forced jogging are like
chores for me
My fitness routine is a combination
of several things – from yoga and
dancing to Pilates and so on. I do core
lengthening and strengthening and
Pilates. I find yoga so therapeutic. Even
though I love stretching, I must confess
that my trainer is the only person in the
world who can make me go to the gym

  • I am not really a gym person. Working
out and forced jogging seem like chores
to me. I would rather dance or do yoga.

I love what I do, so there’s no stress
The glamour industry is full of
competition and insecurities. However,
it is critical to steer clear of all negativity
and keep your energy clean so that the
positivity shows on your face. I enjoy
what I do, and when that happens, your
life is balanced. I take holidays, read,
meet people and do things that make me
feel good.

My last meal of the day is at 7.30pm
Some time ago, I read Jonathan Foer’s
Eating Animals, and since then I haven’t
eaten eggs or drank milk. This includes
cakes that have eggs in them as well. I

eat a lot of legumes and beans, skimmed
milk and green vegetables. The cardinal
rule I follow is that I eat my last meal by
7.30pm. This allows the food to be easily
digested and I never wake up feeling
sluggish. I’m convinced that even if you
have a very basic and irregular workout
routine, you will be fit and healthy if you
follow this eating pattern.

I stay away from allopathy
My mother is a great believer in the
organic way of living and I think it’s
because of her that I feel so strongly
about alternative medicine. I have stayed
away from allopathy – my mother had a
‘magic box’ and it had all kinds
of medicines.
