n “Our main goal with
sharing her story is to
spread awareness about
diseases, appearances,
acceptance, adoption
and disabilities. Most
importantly, to reach
out to those who feel
that they don’t belong,
for them to know that
different is beautiful,”
says Isabella.

need is just a part of who I am. I
loved the fact that she was unique
and special. She is beautiful in
her own way,” smiles the graphic
designer who is an animal lover.
Not a demanding bird, the only
compulsion for three-year-old Rhea
is to stay warm all the time.
What contributes to Rhea’s
success on social media is perhaps
that she looks at the bright side
in life and doesn’t care that she
is different. “I guess people get
why she is so unique and special.
Her personality and charisma are
everything,” says Isabella whose
boyfriend Marcos is equally fond of
Rhea. The other member of their
family is Maia who shares a `funny
relationship’ with Rhea.
But life’s twists and turns and visa
issues mean that Isabella has to
go back to Panama (where she is
from). Since she can’t take Rhea
with her, Isabella and Marcos found
a beautiful foster family in Florida
who have birds with similar disease

and have recently dropped Rhea
there. “The family will look after
Rhea till I can take her back. She
has settled in beautifully with Lemon
and Indi. I will visit as often as I
can,” says Isabella on her social
media accounts.
